Having suffered a dreadful November and start to December, Ange Postecoglou has turned Tottenham’s form around and they come into their Gameweek 19 clash against Brighton off the back of three successive wins in the league.
A 4-1 win over Newcastle over two weeks ago kickstarted this run, before a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest and a 2-1 win over Everton put them back on track for a Champions League qualification spot.
Brighton on the other hand, have won just once in their last five English top flight matches – most recently besting Brentford on the 6th of December. Draws to Burnley and Crystal Palace, as well as a defeat to Arsenal since then sees the Seagulls occupy ninth place in the table – nine points adrift of Spurs.
Sandwiched in between the Burnley stalemate and Arsenal defeat is a 1-0 triumph over Marseille though, a win that saw Roberto De Zerbi’s side finish top of their Europa League group and confirmed their spot in the last-16.

Historically, Spurs have a strong record against Brighton with 20 wins from their 37 competitive meetings, and the majority of their recent clashes have also gone the way of the north Londoners.
Four of their last five meetings across all competitions have gone in favour of Tottenham, with both matches last season ending in 1-0 and 2-1 wins for the two time English champions.
In fact, the Seagulls have managed just three wins against their Thursday night counterparts from their 12 league meetings since being promoted to the top flight in 2017, with their most recent home triumph coming in the form of a 1-0 win back in January 2021.
