Frustrating news from the world of boxing this morning as it seems Tyson Fury vs Oleksandr Usyk is officially off. The undisputed heavyweight world title fight was rumoured to be going ahead at Wembley Stadium on April 29th, but now it seems the fight is completely dead in the water.

Fury vs Usyk Officially Off

The biggest fight in recent heavyweight history between Tyson Fury and Oleksandr Usyk is officially off. The pair were set to meet on April 29th for the undisputed heavyweight championship of the world, but the fight will no longer go ahead.

Contract negotiations had been progressing in recent weeks for this fight, but now it seems the fight will certainly not happen.

To the naked eye, it looks like this falls on the shoulders of ‘The Gypsy King’. Fury was continuously asking for ridiculous demands and adding certain stipulations to the contract, including demanding as 70/30 split of the fight purse.

Usyk’s manager, Egis Kilmas, confirmed this morning that the fight will no longer go ahead on April 29th.

In the lead up to the fight, Fury was a slight betting favourite at odds of 1/2 with the best UK sports betting sites. Oleksandr Usyk was the 7/4 underdog with the best sports betting apps to defeat Fury. However, it now seems we won’t be seeing this fight anytime soon.
