Bournemouth vs Swansea Preview & Prediction (19:45 KO)
Swansea City head down to the south coast to take on Bournemouth in the FA Cup fourth round opener on Thursday evening, with both sides aiming to bounce back from defeats in their respective leagues at the weekend.
Despite going into the break goalless, the Cherries were battered 4-0 by Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday, meanwhile their south Wales-based counterparts fell to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of promotion-chasing Southampton in the second tier.
Prior to their loss at the weekend, Bournemouth were in very strong form having lost just once in nine. That could’ve been two losses had they not turned it around in their third round encounter against QPR though, as they trailed 2-0 at the break before a second half onslaught saw them turn the game on its head and win 3-2.
As for the Swans, they have finally appointed a new manager in Luke Williams after parting ways with Michael Duff in early December. Joining from League Two side Notts County, Williams kickstarted his managerial tenure at the Liberty with a 2-0 win over Morecambe in the previous round, and has since drawn against Birmingham and lost to the Saints in the Championship.
Based on their recent form, we at SportsLens can’t see past anything other than a victory for the hosts, and we expect them to do so by quite a comfortable margin with what will likely be a rotated side.
Prediction: Bournemouth 3-1 Swansea

Bournemouth vs Swansea Betting Tip 1: Bournemouth Half Time/Full Time @ 5/6
Our first tip for your Thursday night Bournemouth vs Swansea FA Cup fourth round bet builder is to back the Cherries to lead at both half time and full time, priced by leading UK betting sites at 5/6.
Andoni Iraola’s men have been in excellent form over the past few months, as previously alluded to, and have led at the break as well as at the full time whistle in four of their last five league victories.
This includes impressive wins over Fulham and Manchester United, as well as in triumphs over Crystal Palace and Sheffield United dating all the way back to late November.
Bournemouth vs Swansea Betting Tip 2: Both Teams To Score @ 10/11
Despite being able to keep numerous clean sheets in league play this term, Bournemouth haven’t particularly defended their goal well in cup competitions. Of their four cup matches thus far this term, the Cherries have kept a clean sheet just once (vs Stoke), and have conceded six goals in the other three games.
Two of those goals came against Swansea back in the August. Yes, the pair have already met once this term despite being different leagues, as the south coast club narrowly claimed a 3-2 Carabao Cup second round victory in south Wales thanks to Ryan Christie’s injury-time winner.
As well, Swansea have scored in each of their last five matches across all competitions, which is why we at SportsLens are backing both teams to score at the Vitality on Thursday, priced at 10/11.
