Bookmakers are now taking bets on Prince Harry and Meghan Markle to make a return to the UK following controversy over a South Park episode.

Reports had suggested that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex were planning on suing the creators of South Park over a controversial episode of the cartoon comedy.

The Spectator have claimed that Meghan was “upset and overwhelmed” by the 22-minute episode that aired last week.

In the episode titled ‘The Worldwide Privacy Tour’, two characters with many similarities to the couple travel across the world demanding privacy.

The episode is based around a red-haired man called the “Prince of Canada” and his wife who move to South Park, Colorado, where the “Prince of Canada” promotes his new book around the world.

This, of course, comes after the release of Prince Harry’s memoir, Spare, which was released earlier this year.

Within the episode the fictional couple are referred to as the “dumb prince and his stupid wife”.

The animated programme begins with a disclaimer stating that all characters within the show are fictional, but the series has often featured characters who bear a resemblance to celebrities.

Harry and Meghan’s spokesperson came out with a response to the claims that the pair would be suing the creators of the show.

“It’s all frankly nonsense. Totally baseless, boring reports.”

American bookmakers have responded to the controversy, and are now taking bets on the couple to return to the UK, as well as offering odds on the couple to announce their divorce.
