Barcelona Prepare For Ousmane Dembele Exit Amid Premier League Interest

Barcelona are reportedly willing to sell Ousmane Demblele this summer, with a host of Premier League sides interested in signing the Frenchman.

Barcelona Transfer News

Barcelona clinched the La Liga title earlier this month, with a 1-0 victory over Espanyol securing the trophy and bringing the league back to the Nou Camp.

The club’s performance in the Champions League was not as successful however, as Xavi’s side were knocked out in the group stages.

Success on the pitch has not been Barcelona’s only focus this season, as the club faced a host of financial punishment following investigations into alleged payments to the La Liga Referee’s association.

A possible transfer ban was on the cards, however, the club are now allowed to do business this summer. One player that could be on his way out of the club is France international, Ousmane Dembele.

Demblele joined the La Liga giants in 2017 for a staggering £96.7m and has made 183 appearances and contributed to 81 goals in the process.

However, the former Borussia Dortmund star has missed 85 matches through injury during his time in Spain and has fallen out-of-favour under Xavi.

The signing of Raphinha has seen Dembele drop down the pecking order and the repeated injuries have reportedly made the Frenchman available this summer.

A move to the Premier League is on the cards, with Manchester United and Chelsea both set to have huge overhauls this window.

Agreeing a deal for the 26-year-old may face a stumbling block, as his contract in Spain is not set to expire for another four years. Meaning he could cost up to £70m, which would be a risk given Dembele’s history with injuries.
