How much is the Bahrain International Trophy prize money for the winning horse? Will be discussed this week as the lucrative Group Two horse race is set to be staged on Friday 17th November – 12:05pm UK-time.
With that in mind, we found out how much the race is worth, the total purse on offer and just what the winning breakdown is between the top finishers. And with a big army of familiar UK and Irish horses heading out to Bahrain, there will be plenty of interest from Europe.
Bahrain International Trophy Winner Will Bank A Cool $600,000
Friday’s Bahrain International Trophy will see 14 runners heading to post in search of a slice of the $1m pot and with such a big cash carrot being dangled it’s no shock to see some familiar horses from the UK and Ireland making the trip over.
12 months ago, we witnessed UK-based jockey Danny Tudhope steer home the Saeed Bin Suroor-trained Dubai Future to win the jackpot – leading home a stable and Godolphin 1-2 in the race with Passion And Glory filling the silver (watch below).
Oh, and the ‘boys in blue’ also had the fourth last year – Magny Cours – to bring home $860,000 of the total $1m purse on offer.
It could also be more of the same this year in 2023 as Godolphin are responsible for five of the 14 runners – that’s a 38% stake in the race. Plus, one of entries is also last year’s winner Dubai Future, who returns as a 7 year-old to try and defend his Bahrain Internatioanl Trophy crown.

Godolphin’s Main Jockey William Buick Opts To Ride Nations Pride
Globetrotting Nations Pride will have the services of top Godolphin rider William Buick as this year’s champion jockey has opted to ride this 4 year-old.
Trained by Charlie Appleby, this Teofilo colt is the winner of nine of his 14 career starts and the most recent of those was last time out when taking the Grade One Canadian International Stakes at Woodbine (watch below).
Prior to that he was a Group One winner in German when landing the Grosser Dallmayr-Preis-Bayerisches Zuchtrennen by 3 lengths.
Plus, has also been a winner in Dubai this year after taking the Dubai Turf on World Cup night back in March.
With successes in the US and, of course, in the UK too, Nations Pride is a winner now in five different countries and will be a warm order with the best UK horse racing betting sites to add another ‘Nation’ to his haul this Friday.
