Arsenal’s Premier League title hopes suffered a huge blow at Anfield on Sunday, as Liverpool came from two goals behind to snatch a point away from the Gunners in the dying minutes of the game.

It looked as if Arsenal were set to move back eight points clear of Manchester City on Sunday, as the Gunners held a 2-1 advantage over Liverpool going into the final minutes of the game at Anfield.

Gabriel Martinelli opened the scoring for the Premier League leaders inside ten minutes, as the ball fell kindly to the Arsenal starlet who poked it just underneath the onrushing Alison to give the Gunners an early advantage.

Arsenal doubled their advantage shortly after scoring the first, as Gabriel Jesus was left free in the box to latch onto a perfect cross from Martinelli, heading home from close range for 2-0.

The Gunners weren’t able to hold on to their two goal advantage in the first half however, as Mohamed Salah was in the right place at the right time to pull a goal back for Liverpool just before the break.

Tempers flared just before the half time whistle and the intensity was just as high in the second half as it was in the first, as both sides came out all guns blazing.

Arsenal held on until the 87th minute, but Reds substitute Roberto Firmino was on hand to break Arsenal hearts late on, as the Brazilian scrambled the ball past Aaron Ramsdale in goal to make it 2-2 with just minutes left on the clock.

Some huge saves from Aaron Ramsdale in added time saved a point for Arsenal, who are now just six points ahead of Manchester City with eight games left to play.

With the Citizens able to close the gap between them and Arsenal to just three points if they win their game in hand, the Premier League title race is as close as it has been all season and the odds have taken yet another turn to reflect the close race.
