Arsenal are set to bolster their midfield options with Jorginho, after reportedly agreeing a fee with Chelsea.

Chelsea are believed to have given Jorginho permission to travel to London Colney to complete a shock move to rivals Arsenal.

After making initial contact for the midfielder last night, the Gunners are said to have agreed a £12m fee for the 31-year-old.

Mikel Arteta is a key factor in the Italian’s move to the Premier League leaders.

Jorginho is expected to sign an 18-month contract at the Emirates, with an option to extend for a further year.

Chelsea signed the midfielder from Napoli in 2018, in a deal worth up to £57m.

The 46-time Italian international signed a five-year contract upon arrival in London, but has failed to sign a contract extension with the Blues.

The move comes off the back of Arsenal’s failure to sign Moises Caicedo from Brighton & Hove Albion.

Two rejected offers for the Ecuadorian has seen the Gunners move towards Jorginho to bolster their midfield options.

Jorginho started 15 times for Chelsea in the Premier League this season, netting on two occasions.

The midfielder is yet to win a Premier League title during his time in England, but could that be about to change?

According to Premier League betting sites, Arsenal are favourites to win the league this season, priced at around 8/11.

Meanwhile, the Blues are still chasing a sensational move for 2022 World Cup Young Player of the Tournament Enzo Fernandez, from Portuguese side Benfica.
