Arsenal’s Premier League title odds have shortened to 4/6 after the Gunners cruised to a 4-1 victory over Crystal Palace on Sunday, with the gap to Manchester City now extending to eight points.

It was Crystal Palace who had the first opportunity of the game, as Wilfried Zaha rattled the post early on with an attempt that was unlucky to not give the visitors the lead.

Arsenal did take the lead after just 28 minutes however, as Gabriel Martinelli calmly finished past Joe Whitworth in net to give the Gunners an early lead.

Bukayo Saka was on hand to finish a brilliantly worked team goal to double the Arsenal advantage, as the winger became the first player in the Premier League to register double figures for both goals and assists this season.

The second half continued just as the first ended and another swiftly worked team move was finished this time by Granit Xhaka, who got his fourth goal in the Premier League this season.

Crystal Palace did pull a goal back in the second half, as Arsenal failed to clear a corner and Jeffrey Schlupp was in the right place at the right time to edge the ball across the line and give the visitors a glimmer of hope late on.

Bukayo Saka scored again late on to kill any comeback from Palace, with a clinical finish inside the box providing the 21-year old with his 12th goal of the season and Arsenal’s fourth of the afternoon.

The win gives Arsenal yet another crucial three points this season towards the Premier League title and with Manchester City playing in the FA Cup this weekend, the Gunners will go into the International break eight points clear of their nearest rivals.

The betting markets have reflected Arsenal’s advantage in the league table, as the Gunners’ odds have shortened back to 4/6 again, with Manchester City drifting to 5/4.
