Arsenal are closing in on deal for Brighton forward Leandro Trossard, after missing out on the signing of Mykhailo Mudryk to rivals Chelsea.

The Gunners have reportedly agreed personal terms with him, with negotiations said to be advancing rapidly.

It’s no secret that the Belgian wants out of the Seagulls, with manager Roberto De Zerbi publicly criticising him in the media, about his attitude in training amongst other things.

Trossard made it clear last week to his agent that he’d resolved to leave Brighton after a fallout with his manager, after starring for the club before the World Cup, scoring seven goals as they creeped up the table, however since returning from Qatar, Trossard’s relationship with De Zerbi has dramatically weakened.

Predominantly playing as a left-winger, Trossard has scored 25 goals in 116 Premier League appearances for the Seagulls, after signing in 2019 from Genk.

Mikel Arteta’s side have been looking to strengthen their attack for a few weeks now, with Gabriel Jesus out injured after suffering an injury during the World Cup. As Arsenal look to extend their lead at the top of the table even more, Trossard could add that flair to keep the clock ticking.
