Ange Postecoglou is set to become the new Tottenham Hotspur manager and is preparing to leave Celtic.

Postecoglou Set To Join Spurs

Postecoglou has emerged as the top choice at Spurs in the last few weeks, but wanted to see out the season in Scotland and now looks set to take over in North London.

He’ll replace Antonio Conte as the club’s new permanent manager after interim stints from Cristian Stellini and Ryan Mason.

Postecoglou led the Hoops to a domestic treble on Saturday after they defeated Inverness Caledonian Thistle in the Scottish Cup.

The 57-year-old will become the first Australian to manage in the Premier League.

In his first year in charge at Celtic Park, he led the Bhoys back to glory in the Scottish Premiership as they reclaimed the title they had lost to Rangers the previous season.

This season, Celtic successfully defended the league and added both domestic cups to their ever-growing trophy cabinet.

It was the first job that Postecoglou had taken in this part of the world after enjoying plenty of success in Australia and Japan.

Other candidates for the Spurs job included Julian Nagelsmann, Xabi Alonso, Arne Slot and Luis Enrique.

It’s understood that Postecoglou will attempt to bring Kyogo Furuhashi with him to North London. The Japanese forward scored 27 goals in 36 league games for Celtic this season.
