  • 9/18 – Winning favourites (1 joint)
  • 3 of the last 5 winners have been owned by JP McManus

SPORTSLENS 1-2-3 TIPS: Owner JP McManus has a top record in this race in recent years and runs the Joseph O’Brien-trained COMFORT ZONE here. A nice winner at Chepstow last time and wasn’t disgraced when third behind the current Triumph Hurdle favourite Lossiemouth at Fairyhouse prior to that. Course winner Scriptwriter and the Moore runner Jupiter Du Gite are respected too.

  • COMFORT ZONE
  • SCRIPTWRITER
  • JUPITER DU GITE

12.10 – Timeform Novices´ Handicap Chase Cl2 2m5f RacingTV

  • 16/18 – Raced within the last 6 weeks
  • 15/18 – Finished either 1st or 2nd last time out
  • 13/18 – Priced 13/2 or shorter
  • 11/18 – Came from the top 3 in the betting
  • 10/18 – Carried 11-2 or more
  • 3/18 – Trained by Venetia Williams
  • 1/18 – Winning favourites (none in the last 12 runnings)

SPORTSLENS 1-2-3 TIPS: The Venetia Williams yard have won this race three times over the years and look to have another good one on their hands in FIRE DANCER, who was a nice winner at Ludlow last time and gets in here with a featherweight of just 10st 6lbs. Stage Star and the unlucky faller last time, Dalamoi, can do best of the rest.

  • FIRE DANCER
  • STAGE STAR
  • DALAMOI

12:40 – Glenfarclas Cross Country Chase (GBB Race) Cl2 3m6f ITV4

  • 15/18 – Won by a horse aged 9 or older
  • 13/18 – Winner came from the top 3 in the betting
  • 13/18 – Returned 6/1 or shorter

  • 10/18 – Carried 11-5 or more in weight
  • 10/18 – Won by an Irish-trained horse
  • 7/18 – Favourites that won

SPORTSLENS 1-2-3 TIPS: Third in last year’s Grand National and winner of the Cross Country race at the Festival last March – DELTA WORK – is the one to beat again, despite having a big burden of 12st to carry. His class can get him home, with past winners of this race Back On The Lash and Diesel D’Allier others to note with proven form over this unique track.

  • DELTA WORK
  • BACK ON THE LASH
  • DIESEL D’ALLIER

1.20 – Albert Bartlett Clarence House Chase (Grade 1) Cl1 2m1f ITV

  • 19/19 – Raced within the last 7 weeks
  • 18/19 – Won by a horse aged 9 or younger

SPORTSLENS 1-2-3 TIPS: Last week’s cancelled Clarence House Chase is rerouted here and the big players have stood their ground. It what looks a straight match-up between last season’s Champion Chase winner ENERGUMENE and Arkle hero Edwardstone, with the former preferred having won 8 of his 9 starts over fences. Gary Moore’s supplemented Editeur Du Gite can take the bronze.

  • ENERGUMENE
  • EDWARDSTONE
  • EDITEUR DU GITE

1.50 – Paddy Power Cheltenham Countdown Podcast Handicap Chase (A Handicap) (Grade 3) Cl1 2m 41/2f ITV

  • 16/18 – Priced 9/1 or shorter
  • 14/18 – Placed in the top 4 last time out

  • Venetia Williams yard has won 2 of the last 9
  • Nigel Twiston-Davies yard has won 2 of the last 5

SPORTSLENS 1-2-3 TIPS: Many with claims here but a chance is taken with the Ben Pauling runner YOUR DARLING, who gets in here with a light weight of just 10st 6lbs and after not lasting out over 3m last time will enjoy the drop back in trip here. The Twiston-Davies yard won this last year and so their consistent Guy is another for the shortlist, while Irish raider Now Where Or When is another with a featherweight that looks to have been laid out for this race.

  • YOUR DARLING
  • GUY
  • NOW WHERE OR WHEN

2.25 – Paddy Power Cotswold Chase (Grade 2) Cl1 3m1f110y ITV

  • 18/19 – Ran at Cheltenham over fences before (10 had won)

  • 15/19 – Won between 2-6 times over fences
  • 14/19 – Priced 7/1 or less
  • 6/19 – Won by a French-bred horse
  • 3/19 – Won by the Paul Nicholls yard (5 wins in total)
  • 2/19 – Favourites

SPORTSLENS 1-2-3 TIPS: Cheltenham racegoers will get a treat here with the 2022 Grand National winner NOBLE YEATS on show and he can add to his growing reputation by adding this Grade 2 to his CV. Showed a good turn-of-foot to win the Many Clouds Chase at Aintree last time and at 8 should have a lot more to come. Protektorat is the top-rated in the field and is feared, as is the 2019 winner of the race Frodon.

  • NOBLE YEATS
  • PROTEKTORAT
  • FRODON

3.00 – Dahlbury Stallions At Chapel Stud Cleeve Hurdle (Grade 2) Cl1 3m ITV

  • 16/17 – Ran within the last 8 weeks
  • 15/17 – Won by a horse aged 9 or younger
  • 15/17 – Raced at Cheltenham (hurdles) previously
  • 14/17 – Officially rated 154 or higher
  • 12/17 – Winners that went onto finish in the top 4 in that season’s Stayers’ Hurdle
  • 11/17 – Finished either 1st or 2nd in their last race
  • 11/17 – Winners from the top 3 in the market
  • Paisley Park has won the last 3 runnings

SPORTSLENS 1-2-3 TIPS: PAISLEY PARK has aged like a fine wine and can continue his dominance in this race – has won the last three runnings. 11 years-old now, but showed a month ago is better than ever after winning the Long Walk Hurdle at Kempton. Dashel Drasher and Gelino Bello look the obvious dangers to PP’s crown.

  • PAISLEY PARK
  • DASHEL DRASHER
  • GELINO BELLO

3.35 – Ballymore Novices´ Hurdle (Grade 2) (CLASS 1) (4yo+) CH4 2m4f110y ITV

  • 15/16 – Ran within the last 8 weeks
  • 14/16 – Won between 1-3 times over hurdles previously
  • 13/16 – Winners from the top 3 in the market
  • 13/16 – Won their latest race
  • 12/16 – Favourites placed
  • 11/16 – Won by a horse aged 6 years-old
  • 10/16 – Priced 4/1 or shorter
  • 5/16 – Favourites that won

SPORTSLENS 1-2-3 TIPS: 6 year-olds have a good record in this race and with that in mind PEMBROKE gets the nod. This Dan Skelton runner comes here having won his last two and the last of those was a very impressive 16lb success at Ludlow. Can You Call was also a tidy winner last time and is another for the shortlist, with Cruz Control, who is also a 6 year-old, looking the most interesting of those priced bigger.

  • PEMBROKE
  • CAN YOU CALL
  • CRUZ CONTROL

4.10 – SSS Super Alloys Handicap Hurdle (CLASS 2) (4yo+) Soft 2m1f RacingTV

  • 17/17 – Rated 120 or higher
  • 15/17 – Had raced within the last 9 weeks
  • 15/17 – Priced 8/1 or shorter

  • 13/17 – Had raced at Cheltenham before
  • 12/17 – Came from the top 3 in the betting
  • 10 of the last 11 winners aged 7 or younger
  • 11 of the last 13 winners carried 10-12 or less in weight

SPORTSLENS 1-2-3 TIPS: This could be another for the Dan Skelton camp as they run PIKAR here with only 10st 6lbs to carry. Probably needed the run last time after 2 months off and didn’t seem to enjoy the longer trip – the return to 2m1f will be a big plus. The Paul Nicholls runner Hacker Des Places and CD winner Punctuation, who is on a 5-timer, also enter calculations.

  • PIKAR
  • HACKER DES PLACES
  • PUNCTUATION
