FC Augsburg

The team was founded in 1907 and it was known as BC Augsburg from 1921 through to 1969. It is also the largest football club in Swabian Bavaria, having more than 18,800 members! FC Augsburg was promoted to the Bundesliga in 2011, after spending a lot of time fluctuating between the second and third divisions, and it has remained in the prime football league ever since then. Bayern Munich

1899 Hoffenheim

This football club is quite a newbie to the Bundesliga, despite it having its origins way back in 1906. It was then that its predecessor FC Olympia Oberschöneweide was founded. Between 2009 and 2019, the team competed in the 2. Bundesliga division, and it was promoted to the premier division after defeating VfB Stuttgart in the relegation play-offs in 2019. For the proceeding season, it became a part of the Bundesliga and has remained within the division since then.

Teams Relegated from the Bundesliga in 2024

Because the Bundesliga operates in a similar way to various other football leagues, teams will be relegated from the division at the end of every season. It is the lowest placed teams that suffer this fate, and in the 2021-22 season, two teams were subjected to relegation to the 2. Bundesliga division. Hertha BSC managed to win 2-1 on aggregate against Hamburger SV in the relegation play-offs, meaning that both clubs remainder in their respective leagues as a result.
