It’s being reported that a number of Saudi Pro League clubs are going after Bruno Fernandes in the January transfer window with bids that could be as high as £90m.

Who are the clubs that want Fernandes?

According to Fichajes, Saudi Arabian clubs are set to keep making headlines within the transfer window. After causing an uproar in the summer, purchasing the likes of Karim Benzema, Neymar Jr, Sadio Mane and Riyad Mahrez, Saudi Pro League clubs are now targeting Manchester United captain Bruno Fernandes.

No specific clubs have been mentioned thus far but expect it to be the league giants such as Al Hilal, Al Ahli, Al Nassr and Al Ittihad.

The offer that Manchester United could be set to receive is around £90m (£87m) for Fernandes. This could be a tempting offer to sell the 29-year-old if United have a replacement in mind.

Fernandes has been slammed by the media so far this season as his attitude has been the talking point following some bad results for Manchester United.

However, his stats shows that he has been the best of a bad bunch this season at Old Trafford with 7 G/A in all competitions. This might prevent United from wanting to sell their most valued player.

Fernandes joined Manchester United in 2020 from Portuguese giants Sporting Lisbon. With 125 goal G/A in those three years, are United really ready to say goodbye?

Who could they replace him with?

The Red Devils have spent £170m on transfers this season. The signings Manchester United have made this season have mostly been poor. The likes of Mason Mount, Johnny Evans, Sofyan Amrabat and Andre Onana have mainly been in the headlines for the wrong reasons as they just haven’t been able to make a positive impression.

Rasmus Holjund has been a big positive for United despite not being able to find the net in the Premier League. The Danish striker has five Champions League goals for them though.

Manchester United have been looking at Benfica attacking talent, Joao Neves. Only 19 years of age and the Portuguese youth player is already being compared to Fernandes himself.

Yes, Neves is a little young to completely take over the role of Fernandes but it’s not the first time United would show trust in a Portuguese youth player. Just ask Cristiano Ronaldo.
