Tonight sees the Europa Conference League enter it’s fourth matchday in the group stage. Here’s who can qualify for the next stages.
What’s Happened To The Round Of 32?
You may have forgotten that things have changed in the Europa League within the round of 32. It’s the same situation for the Conference league. Teams who finish in 1st place in their groups automatically move onto the round of 16. There is now a knockout round to qualify for the round of 16 where teams who finished in 2nd in their groups, play third-place teams who have come down from the Europa League.
Who can qualify for the next stage this evening?
Starting in group C, Plzen can qualify if they beat Dinamo Zagreb and if Ballkani’s match with Astana ends in a draw.
All the way down in group G, PAOK can qualify with a point against Aberdeen this evening as long as Eintracht Frankfurt beat HJK Helsinki. If Frankfurt win then they too will also qualify.
In Group H, Fenerbahce can qualify with a win over Ludogorets. If Trnava beat Nordsjaelland then Fenerbahce would also secure top spot and will be the first team in the round of 16.
Who can exit the Europa Conference League this evening?
In Group A, Olimpija Ljubljana fail to win then they will crash out of the competition. Same applies to Breidablik in group B.
In group E, If Fiorentina beat Cukaricki and if either Ferencvaros or Genk win in their match, then that would result in the end of the line for Cukaricki.
As already established in group G, if PAOK and Eintracht Frankfurt win their games then Aberdeen and HJK Helsinki will both fall out of the competition.
Finally, if Nordsjaelland can stop Trnava from getting all three points then Trnava would no longer be in the tournament with two games to spare.
