Liverpool have snatched a couple of players from Manchester United’s wish list including the likes of Darwin Nunez and Cody Gakpo. They might be about to do it once more with Goncalo Inacio.
The Sporting Lisbon star has attracted attention from both clubs but Liverpool seem to upping their interest. It has been reported that Inacio has a £51million release clause in his contract that will be in Liverpool’s ideal price range.
Both sides are looking at Inacio as ideal replacements for current centre-backs. Man Utd will be looking to move Harry Maguire on in the next couple of transfer windows. As for Liverpool, Virgil Van Dijk and Joel Matip are both entering retirement stage in their respected careers at 32. Defence is an area that Liverpool will be looking at in summer.
Man Utd have a slight advantage as Inacio is represented by Miguel Pinho, who also is Bruno Fernandes’ agent, who worked on the playmaker’s move to Old Trafford in January 2020. Man Utd are also in the Champions League whilst Liverpool are in the Europa League.
This might not be for long as Man Utd have lost their opening two games in the Champions League. They also sit in 8th place in the Premier League compared to Liverpool who are in 3rd.
