Chelsea were victorious in a bidding war with Liverpool over completing the signature of Romeo Lavia from Southampton. He cost Chelsea £58m and he has yet to play for them since joining in August.

Lavia has been treating an ankle injury since September and fans were hoping they’d see their new signing make his debut after the international break.

However, Chelsea boss Mauricio Pochettino confirmed Lavia will be out longer:

“I don’t believe [he will be back after the international break], I cannot tell you, but he is still not running. After the international break, he is not going to be ready, Romeo.”

It’s now believed that Chelsea might not see Lavia in action until December as the medical team is being careful with Lavia’s ankle and they won’t rush the 19=year-old into action.

Chelsea’s next game is at home to Arsenal on Saturday at 5:30pm.
