Liverpool are monitoring Bayern Munich star Leroy Sane as a potential replacement for Mo Salah. Salah looks to be heading to Saudi Arabia either in January or in the summer. Al-Ittihad put a £200m+ offer down on the table for Salah that Liverpool rejected. They’ll surely be back for their target man.
Sane scored 39 goals and assisted 45 in his 4 seasons spent at Manchester City. He moved to Bayern Munich in 2020 where has scored 41 goals, 7 of those have been scored this season.
Sane turns 28 in January as he is entering his prime. Liverpool won’t be banking on Sane having the same impact on the club as Mo Salah. He is their 5th all time leading goal scorer bagging 192 goals in seven seasons.
Liverpool might have to spend big money in order to sign Sane as his Bayern contract doesn’t expire until June 2025. This is a deal that will interest Man City. If a deal goes through they will earn £8m due to a clause in Sane’s Bayern contract.
Liverpool have other targets as Salah replacements including Federico Chiesa of Juventus.
