DINO BELLAGIO (system – Donald McCain, non-handicap hurdles, Bangor)
Donald McCain has a fine record at Bangor-on-Dee, one of his local tracks and, since 2011, backing all his runners in non-handicap hurdles would have found 74 winners from 259 bets (28.6% strike-rate) for a profit of £49.18 to a £1 level stake at SP. DINO BELLAGIO, winner of an Ayr bumper on last season’s debut, can make a winning start to his hurdling career.

SPECIAL PROTECTOR (system – The Gurka, 9f-10f)
Progeny of sire The Gurkha have a fine record when given a trip of between nine and ten furlongs, landing 31 of their 197 starts (16%) for a profit of £166.73 to a £1 level stake at SP. SPECIAL PROTECTOR has run well under these conditions on her last three outings, finishing fourth of 15 (25-1), third of 18 (11-1) and second of 13 (3-1), and can break her duck this afternoon.
KEMPTON 6.00
THE LINE (system – Richard Hannon, second run since gelded)
Richard Hannon’s THE LINE was reluctant to load but shaped with promise when a 17-2 third of five in a 5f conditions contest at Ascot on his debut in May. He was withdrawn twice subsequently after giving trouble at the start and was gelded over the summer. The son of Caravaggio failed to justify market confidence on soft ground at Sandown last month, beating only a couple home in a 7f novice, but the return to sprinting could suit and his yard’s runners do well on their second start after being gelded, landing 26 of their 149 starts since 2018 for a profit of £25.02 to a £1 level stake ay SP.
