Andrew heads to Haydock, Killarney and Chelmsford (all-weather) for his four stats-based picks on Saturday, September 30th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:
HAYDOCK 2.10
ZAINABB (system – Night Of Thunder, good to soft or softer going)
Progeny of sire Night Of Thunder are 69 from 384 (18%) when racing on good to soft or softer going (+£ 40.17 to a £1 level stake at SP) and the Charlie Fellowes-trained ZAINABB, who has shaped with promise in two runs on good ground, is taken to get off the mark now encountering a slow surface for the first time.
HAYDOCK 3.50
STAY IN THE GAME (system – Too Darn Hot, soft or heavy going)
Progeny of sire Too Darn Hot have done well on soft or heavy going (according to race times, not the official verdict), landing five of their 15 starts for a profit of £14.75 to a £1 level stake at SP. John Quinn’s STAY IN THE GAME shaped with promise when a 10-1 third on good ground at Thirsk on his debut earlier this month and can take a step forward on today’s much slower going.
KILLARNEY 4.10
RUBYDOOBY (system – Paddy Twomey stable switchers)
Paddy Twomey has a great record at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other yards, scoring with 13 of the 36 qualifiers (36.1%) for a profit of £50.72 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who were having just their second career outing had form figures of 1112614 (4-7) for a profit of £32.61. RUBYDOOBY, sixth in a Naas maiden for Johnny Murtagh last summer, is taken to defy a long absence on her stable debut.
CHELMSFORD 8.30
UNDER CURFEW (system – Tony Carroll, Chelmsford, stall 1)
It’s usually an advantage to be drawn low at Chelmsford and Tony Carroll often hits the target with his stall 1 runners, scoring with ten of the 44 qualifiers (22.7%) for a profit of £36.30 to a £1 level stake at SP. UNDER CURFEW isn’t the easiest to win with but is very consistent and those who like to play place-only at short odd might want to get involved.
