ALL AGLEAM (system – Andrew Balding, second-time-out 2yos, beaten by 10L or less on debut)
Andrew Balding has a cracking record with his second-time out juveniles who were beaten but ran within ten lengths of the winner on their debuts. Those who made that debut on turf are 87 from 330 (26.4% strike-rate) for a profit of £104.62 to the usual £1 stake. He had an 11-1 winner on this angle at Southwell 48 hours ago and perhaps ALL AGLEAM, beaten by just under six lengths when a 14-1 eighth at Salisbury last month, can take a big step forward this afternoon.
ASCOT 2.25
MONKEY ISLAND (system – Starspangledbanner, 2yo debut, turf)
Progeny of the sire Starspangledbanner have a useful record if making their juvenile debut on turf, landing 28 of their 193 starts (14.5% strike-rate) for a profit of £34.61 to a £1 level stake at SP. Plenty of the beaten horses ran second or third and an each-way play on Brian Meehan’s MONKEY ISLAND could pay dividends.

CAVRIANA (system – Brian Meehan 2yo newcomers)
Since the beginning of 2018, Brian Meehan is 13 from 113 (11.5%) with two-year-old newcomers for a profit of £76.33 to a £1 level stake at SP. His most recent qualifier was 16-1 winner Jayarebe at Newmarket on August 25th and perhaps CAVRIANA can follow suit.
