BLAKENEY POINT (system – Cartoon offspring in small fields)
BLAKENEY POINT has always seemed happiest in small fields and that’s often the way with offspring of his dam, Cartoon. When racing in fields of 12 or more runners they’ve landed just one of their 42 starts, as compared to 24 wins from 93 starts (25.8%) in anything smaller for a profit of £76.26 to a £1 level stake at SP. The veteran is the 12-1 outsider of seven but won over track and trip at about this time last year and could go well. I’ve saved on stablemate FINISK RIVER.
BANGOR 4.10
CHOIRMASTER (system – Donald McCain, handicap hurdlers at Bangor, recent run)
Since the start of 2011, Donald McCain has a 46 from 141 record (32.6%) with handicap hurdlers at Bangor who had the benefit of a recent outing (within four weeks). Backing all the qualifiers would have returned a huge profit of £142.66 to a £1 level stake at SP (+101.2% on turnover). CHOIRMASTER contributed to those figures with a 5-1 course and distance success last month and can follow up.
HAMILTON 5.45
BELLARCHI (system – Grant Tuer, female handicappers)
Grant Tuer has a solid recent record wit his female handicappers, regardless of whether they’re up against male rivals or taking on their own sex. Since the beginning of 2019 he’s scored with 21 of the 91 qualifiers (23.1% strike-rate) for a profit of £43.27 to a £1 level stake at SP. BELLARCHI won gamely at Carlisle on her nursery debut just four days ago and is taken to follow up.
