Andrew has been in fine form of late and starts the new week with three selections at Cartmel and Ripon on Monday, August 28th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

CARTMEL 1.50

JONY MAX (system – Christian Williams, long travellers)

Since the beginning of 2019, Welsh handler Christian Williams has a 34 from 125 record (27.2% strike-rate) when shipping one of his runners more than 250 miles to the races and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £15.27 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those who started as favourite won 21 of their 50 starts for a profit of £19.02. JONY MAX, second by a neck on his latest course visit, was disputing favouritism at the time of writing and looks set to go close at least.

RIPON 2.25

JERSEY ROCS (system – Ripon, second time out 2yos, ran at Ripon on debut)

Previous experience of Ripon’s quirky undulating track can be a big advantage, especially where juvenile runners are concerned. This century, backing second-time out two-year-olds at Ripon, who made their debut at the Yorkshire venue, would have found 17 winners from 100 bets for a profit of £28.30 to a £1 level stake at SP. JERSEY ROCS ran green when second to the progressive Seven Questions over course and distance on his debut earlier this month and can go one better.

CARTMEL 3.30

SECRET SECRET (system – Jimmy Moffatt stable switchers)

One of my favourite betting angles is to back horses who switch to the Jimmy Moffatt yard from other trainers. Since the beginning of 2015, this system has found 13 winners from 56 bets for a profit of £112.00 to a £1 level stake at SP. Several months ago, I vowed to nap all the qualifiers in the Racing Post naps table after he had a 50-1 stable switcher win at Sedgefield but I neglected to do so at Cartmel last Saturday when Mr Rumbalicious (tipped in this column) won at 16-1 on his yard debut. Hopefully, SECRET SECRET can follow suit, despite changing hands cheaply at the sales in May.
