FFOS LAS 1.40
NOBODY TOLD ME (system – Jedd O’Keeffe, long travellers)
Since the beginning of 2018, Jedd O’Keeffe’s long travellers – horses who were shipped more than 250 miles to the races – have a record of 10220146178 (3-11) for a profit of £22.50 to a £1 level stake at SP. NOBODY TOLD ME makes the long trip to Ffos Las in search of easy ground and the three-year-old can give Sir Mark Prescott’s odds-on favourite TROOPER BISDEE a race.
FFOS LAS 2.15
BREAK THE BANK (system – Andrew Balding, second-time out 2yo, beaten 10L or less on turf on debut)
Andrew Balding has a great record at the second time of asking with his juveniles and the most profitable angle I’ve uncovered is to back the ones who were beaten on turf on their debuts but ran within ten lengths of the winner. He’s won with 85 of the 322 qualifiers (26.4%) for a profit of £99.42 to a £1 level stake at SP. BREAK THE BANK ran green when a respectable 18-1 sixth of 11 at Newmarket on his debut earlier this month (beaten by just under 5L) and can take a step forward this afternoon.
NEWMARKET 4.25
BURGLAR (system – Gosden yard, first-time hood, turf)
Since the beginning of 2014, the Gosdens have a 23 from 62 record when using a first-time hood on a turf runner and backing them blind would have returned a hugged profit of £117.17 to a £1 level stake at SP. BURGLAR, two from three in novice company, has failed to settle when unplaced in both handicap runs but is worth chancing in the headgear today.
FFOS LAS 4.30
ROOST (system – Ralph Beckett 3yos, second run since gelded, handicaps)
Ralph Beckett has a cracking record with his three-year-old handicappers on their second run after a gelding operation, scoring with 22 of the 93 qualifiers (23.7%) for a profit of £65.36 to the usual £1 stake. ROOST wasn’t disgraced in a 12-1 fifth at Sandown on his return from a short break/gelding earlier this month and could have improvement to come.
