EXTRAORDINAIRE (system – Oisin Murphy riding for Brian Meehan)
Oisin Murphy has a useful record when riding for Brian Meehan, scoring on 13 of his 78 mounts (16.7% strike-rate) for a profit of £33.60 to a £1 level stake at SP. Only 15 of those were newcomers are three of them won for a profit of £22.50. Murphy seems to do extremely well on fillies when riding for Meehan, regardless of whether they had previous experience or not, recording form figures of 124211102 (4-9) since 2019, with the winners at 16-1, 13-2, 13-2 and 11-2. EXTRAORDINAIRE can continue that good sequence when she makes her debut in this 6f fillies’ novice contest.
NEWBURY 3.45
BEENHAM (system – Havana Grey, 5f, turf)
Progeny of sire Havana Grey are 48 from 229 when running over 5f on turf and backing them blindly would have returned a profit of £24.98 to a £1 level stake at SP. BEENHAM, second best of her group when sixth in the Super Spring over course and distance last month, was only fifth when favourite for a conditions contest at Glorious Goodwood but got involved in a three-way battle for the early lead and can be forgiven that effort.

ODETTE’S BEAU (system – Michael Dods, second-time out 2yos)
Since the beginning of 2012, Michael Dods is 40 from 245 (16.3%) with his second-time out juveniles for a profit of £58.22 to a £1 level stake at SP. ODETTE’S BEAU was too green to do himself justice at Pontefract on last month’s debut, beating only one home, but went off at just 15-2 and is no doubt capable of better. He can take a big step forward this afternoon.
