Manchester United are reportedly interested in signing Everton midfielder, Amadou Onana, despite being linked with Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat.

Manchester United are set to make a surprise bid for Belgian international, Amadou Onana, as the club prepare for the upcoming Premier League campaign.

The 2022-23 campaign saw success return to Old Trafford once again, as the Red Devils won silverware for the first time in seven years.

Not only did Erik ten Hag win the Carabao Cup in his opening season, the Dutchman also guided his side to third place in the Premier League.

Securing Champions League football was vital for the club’s ambition in the coming transfer window, as a host of Europe’s elite players have been linked with a move to Manchester.

Rasmus Hojlund, Andre Onana and Mason Mount have all joined the club and according to reports, Everton midfielder, Amadou Onana, has caught the eye of Erik ten Hag.

Erik ten Hag is keen to address his team’s lack of physicality and has turned his focus to bringing in a commanding central midfielder. United are yet to make progress in their pursuit of Fiorentina’s Sofyan Amrabat.

Everton are hopeful in keeping a hold of Onana, who joined from Lille for £33m last summer, and insist they are not under financial pressure to sell the midfielder this summer.

The Belgian is an important player for Sean Dyche and the club hope to keep the 21-year-old for at least another year. and it would take at least a bid of £50m to convince Everton to sell their star man.

United are keen to add a midfield signing following the departure of Brazilian midfielder, Fred. Scott McTominay could also leave the club, as West Ham had a £30m bid turned down for the Scotland international last week.
