BATH 3.05

CLANDESTINELY (system – Adrian Wintle, local tracks)

CLANDESTINELY has hinted at ability at big priced in novice/maiden company and the filly could go well on her handicap debut. In-form Adrian Wintle does well at his two local tracks – Bath and Chepstow – and had we backed his runners at these two venues since the summer of 2020 we’d have won 32 of our 164 bets (19.5% strike-rate) and made a profit of £82.20 to a £1 level stake at SP.

LINGFIELD 4.40

KOJI (system – Kodiac, first-time blinkers)

Progeny of the sire Kodiac often respond well to first-time blinkers and had we backed all the Flat qualifiers (turf only) we’d have won 26 of our 181 bets (14.4%) and made a profit of £55.90 to the usual £1 stake. The bulk of the profits came on good or faster going and KOJI has conditions to suit.

SANDOWN 7.10

WHAT A WHOPPER (system – Brian Meehan handicappers, gelded since last run)

WHAT A WHOPPER hasn’t been seen on a racecourse since his 33-1 seventh in a Salisbury novice contest last autumn but Brian Meehan’s three-year-old looks worth a bet on his belated seasonal/handicap debut. He was gelded over the winter and, since beginning of 2015, his trainer is nine from 35 (25.7% strike-rate) with his newly-gelded runners in turf handicaps for a profit of £24.50 to a £1 level stake at SP.

LEICESTER 7.20

KITTYKARMA (system – Richard Fahey, first-time cheekpieces, fillies in turf handicaps)

Richard Fahey’s KITTYKARMA is an eight-race maiden, but her best efforts have come with cut in the ground and conditions will be to her liking in this 1m4f handicap. Her in-form trainer reaches for the first-time cheekpieces, and he has a good record when using this headgear on fillies in turf handicaps, scoring with 11 of the 44 qualifiers since 2010 for a profit of £71.25.
