Spreadex offers both normal fixed odds betting plus spread betting on horse racing. There are some key differences between this form of gambling and placing regular fixed odds bets. Get the calls right and punters could win big, but the potential to lose money can be much higher. Intrigued? Then check out this how to spread bet on horse racing guide:

Andrew heads to Cartmel, Ripon and Doncaster for his three recommended bets/trades on Saturday, July 22nd. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

CARTMEL JOCKEYS

CHARLOTTE JONES has a solid record at Cartmel and backing her mounts blind would have found 26 winners from 104 bets for a profit of £15.96 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 16.5, A/E = 1.58). MR RUMBALICIOUS is up against 1-3 favourite Kinbara in the opening 2m6f novices’ hurdle (2.15) but  he looks a potential improver on his first run for Jimmy Moffatt, who has a fine record at the first time of asking with horses he takes over from other trainers. YUKON (2.50) had the 1-2 favourite back in second place when scoring at 50-1 under Charlotte Jones on his debut for Moffatt at Sedgefield last October and he’s made frame in his three subsequent starts, finding only one too good over course and distance last time. ALQUAMAR (3.25), BELLS EXPRESS (4.00) and in particular JELSKI (4.35) also have sound prospects of picking up points and a buy of Jones in the CARTMEL JOCKEYS market is the call. Fixed odds punters might wish to combine her mounts in a multiple bet with Spreadex.

Recommendation: Buy CHARLOTTE JONES in Cartmel Jockeys

RIPON 4.30

DARK JEDI is something of an oddball, as he needs genuinely good or slower going but tends to come good in high summer. He’s scored just once from 25 starts in spring/autumn but if we only consider his runs from June to August his record becomes 120671144250133172456 (5-21) for a profit of £32.00 to a £1 level stake at SP. On officially good or softer turf that record improves to five from 17 (+£36.00), including two wins (6-1 and 5-1) from two starts at Ripon, one of which came in this race two years ago. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back DARK JEDI in Ripon 4.30

DONCASTER 8.45

Charlie Johnston hasn’t got the best of record with last-time-out winners since taking over the licence in his own name this year, scoring with 11 of the 93 qualifiers (11.8%) for a loss of £66.98 to a £1 level stake at SP (expected winners = 19.51, A/E = 0.56). Those returning from more than a week off the track were just five from 78 (expected winners = 13.64, A/E = 0.37). BAILEYS KHELSTAR was a winner on good to firm going at Beverley 15 days ago but his prominent style is unlikely to be so effective at Doncaster and the last time he raced on soft going he was beaten by 14 lengths into fifth of six at Redcar. Sell in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market.

Recommendation: Oppose BAILEYS KHELSTAR in Doncaster 8.45
