GUSHING GOLD (system – Andrew Balding 2yos, third start, turf only)
Andrew Balding’s juveniles often peak on their third career start and, since the beginning of 2016, those that have that third outing on turf are 46 from 178 (25.8% strike-rate) for a profit of £55.43 to a £1 level stake at SP (A/E = 1.44, expected winners = 31.86). GUSHING GOLD and JAKIMA both qualify in this fillies’ maiden with the first-named, a solid 28-1 second at Leicester on her debut before her mid-division effort in the Albany Stakes at Royal Ascot, much preferred.
NOTTINGHAM 2.50
CUBANISTA (system – Pam Sly, headgear removal)
Pam Sly has a good record when removing headgear from her runners, scoring with 11 of the 58 qualifiers in the past 20 seasons for a profit of £49.00 to a £1 level stake at SP. CUBANISTA disappointed in the second-time blinkers on the July Course last month and, with the ground in his favour, could be worth chancing on his first sprint outing in this 6f handicap.
NOTTINGHAM 5.15
ENCHANTED NIGHT (system – Night Of Thunder, good to soft or softer going)
Progeny of the sire Night Of Thunder are profitable to back blind on actual good to soft or softer going (based on race times, not the official going), landing 58 of their 331 starts (+£34.50 to a £1 level stake at SP). Backing only the fillies and mares would have found 31 winners from 157 bets (19.8% strike-rate) for a profit of £78.39. ENCHANTED NIGHT blew the start when only fifth at Yarmouth 48 hours ago and can be given another chance.
