CHEPSTOW 3.35
ON EDGE (system – Christopher Mason, geldings)
Christopher Mason is 23 from 158 (14.6% strike-rate) with geldings and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £55.88 to a £1 level stake at SP. He’s eight from 25 (32%) with the five-year-olds, including a 13-8 win for ON EDGE in a 6f Chepstow handicap on July 10th, taking his course and distance record to 131 (2-3). He’s only gone up by 3lb and can follow up.
CHEPSTOW 4.05
IGOTATEXT (system – Adrian Wintle, local tracks)
IGOTATEXT left his race in the stalls when reappearing at Chepstow on June 26th – he was reluctant to load, blew the start and could never get involved. His six-length last of ten wasn’t a bad effort in the circumstances and a clean break could see him bounce back to winning ways. Adrian Wintle only has two tracks within 50 miles of his Gloucestershire base – Bath and Chepstow – and his runners have shown a good profit at both in recent years, with 21 winners from 93 runners at Bath since June 2020 (+£46.70) and ten from 66 at Chepstow (+£35.50).
LEICESTER 4.15
HILL FILLY (system – Hughie Morrison, Leicester handicaps)
Since the beginning of 2017, Hughie Morrison has an eight from 38 record in handicaps on the Flat at Leicester and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £23.65 to a £1 level stake at SP. The three-year-olds were seven from 19 for a profit of £37.63. HILL FILLY falls into that age group and looks a likely improver on her handicap debut.
