BEVERLEY 3.10
SKEDADDLED (system – Fast Company, good to soft or softer going)
The going at Beverley is officially soft with showers forecast and though yet to race on such a surface, the Ron Barr-trained SKEDADDLED is bred to improve for it. The mare finished a creditable 25-1 third on fast ground at Thirsk last time (wore first-time cheekpieces) and progeny of her sire Fast Company are 131 from 1019 (13%) on officially good to soft or softer going on the Flat for a profit of £98.67 to the usual £1 stake.
BEVERLEY 4.55
HAIZOOM (system – Charlie Johnston, Beverley handicaps, 1m4f+, top five finish last time out)
The Johnston yard has a good record with handicappers over the longer trips at Beverley (1m4f+), especially those who recorded a top five finish on their latest outing. Since 2012, this angle has thrown up 27 winners from 64 runners (42.2% strike-rate) for a profit of £59.09 to a £1 level stake at SP. The last two qualifiers won (14-1 and 3-1) and perhaps HAIZOOM can get the hat-trick p.
KILLARNEY 6.15
COACH MADDEN (system – Belardo, 3yo+, 1m+, Flat)
Progeny of the sire Belardo tend to improve in their three-year-old season and when given a trip of 1m or further on the Flat (turf or all-weather). Had we backed all 503 qualifiers we’d have found 77 winners (15.3% strike-rate) for a profit of £73.13 to a £1 level stake at SP. COACH MADDEN has finished well beaten in his three runs to date, latterly when 200-1 for a 7f Cork maiden, but the switch to handicapping and return to 1m could bring about the required improvement.
