Andrew starts the new week with the three stats-based picks at Southwell (jumps) and Chepstow (Flat) on Monday, June 26th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

SOUTHWELL 1.55

FIRE AWAY (system – Laura Morgan, chasers)

One of the simplest and most effective systems I follow is to back all Laura Morgan-trained runners over fences. She’s won with 82 of the 381 qualifiers (21,5% strike-rate) for a profit of £123.25 to a £1 level stake at SP. Last week, she had winners at 9-2 and 11-4 on this angle and FIRE AWAY, a winner over hurdles here in April, might be able to build on his recent handicap chase 16-1 fourth at Bangor.

CHEPSTOW 3.15

IGOTATEXT (system – Adrian Wintle, local tracks)

There are only two racecourses withing a 50-mile radius of Adrian Wintle’s Gloucestershire base – Bath and Chepstow – and he has a good recent record at both. Since racing resumed after lockdown in June 2020, his combined record at these two venues stands at 30 winners from 153 bets (19.6%) for a profit of £81.20 to the usual £1 stake. IGOTATEXT has been off the track for 266 days but could be worth chancing, as he finished a creditable fourth over course and distance on last season’s reappearance/stable debut and did win first-time out one occasion for his previous yard.

SOUTHWELL 5.00

IVETWIGGEDIT (system – Tom Lacey hurdlers, beaten favourite last time out)

IVETWIGGEDIT, who started as the 2-1 favourite at Musselburgh on March 24th when bidding for a fourth straight win, trailed home 59 lengths behind the winner in a Class 2 handicap hurdle but was found to be coughing after the race and has been rested since. Tom Lacey does well with hurdlers who were beaten when favourite on their latest starts, scoring with 25 of the 106 qualifiers for a profit of ÂŁ32.73 to a ÂŁ1 level stake at SP. The six-year-old mare drops down to Class 4 level today and can bounce back.
