Andrew found 8-1 Sandown scorer HAT TOSS on Friday and has four more stats-based picks on Saturday, June 17th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:
CHESTER 1.35
INVINCIBLE FRIEND (system – Tom Dascombe, restricted novice stakes, not debut)
Tom Dascombe has an excellent record in restricted novice races and backing those who’d had at least one previous outing would have seen us find six winners from 15 bets for a profit of £29.66 to the usual £1 stake. INVINCIBLE SPIRIT disappointed when 7-2 favourite for a 6f maiden at Haydock last time but he was drawn out on the wing in stall 1. He’s fared well on the draw front today (stall 2) and any rain will help.
YORK 2.00
BOLLIN MARGARET (system – Fountain Of Youth, turf, very recent run)
Backing all progeny of the sire Fountain Of Youth on turf, who last ran between one and 15 days ago, would have found 31 winners from 185 bets (16.8% strike-rate) for a huge profit of £306.75 to a £1 level stake at SP. BOLLIN MARGARET, well drawn in stall 2 in the 1m4f Queen Mother’s Cup, has been in good form of late and can go one better after her narrow Haydock defeat just three days ago.
CHESTER 2.10
VINTAGE CLARETS (system – class barrier)
VINTAGE CLARETS has form figures in Class 1 or 2 contests of 368690500029240 (0-15) and is best judged on his record below that level of 41112 (3-5) for a profit of £12.68 to a £1 level stake at SP. His latest Class 3 outing saw him finish second at 28-1 to Chipstead in a 15-runner Catterick handicap in October and the winner, Royal Ascot bound, is now 9lb higher. Richard Fahey’s four-year-old was a sufferer in the “Dash” at Epsom (he was one of those whose stall opened late) and can gain compensation from a good draw in stall 2 today.
CHESTER 3.20
SOPHIA’S STARLIGHT (system – Grant Tuer, female runners in handicaps)
Grant Tuer has a solid recent record with fillies/mares in handicaps, whether they’re taking on their own sex or not. Since the beginning of 2019, he’s scored with 16 of the 68 runners for a profit of £41.02 (expected winners = 9.79). SOPHIA’S STARLIGHT won unchallenged at Wetherby last time despite taking the inside route (not always the place to be at that venue) and can follow up from a favourable draw.
