Andrew heads to Haydock and Catterick for his three recommended bets/trades on Saturday, June 10th. Follow his tips this week and all year round on horse racing betting sites with the lowdown on his latest picks below:

HAYDOCK 2.25

DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER

The majority of the runners in this 1m4f Class 2 televised handicap need plenty of cut in the ground and, while Haydock going reports are sometimes complete works of fiction, if the ‘good to firm’ description is anywhere near accurate then some of the market leaders are likely to struggle. CUMULONIMBUS, 7-2 favourite at the time of writing, was scratched from an intended engagement at Hamilton last month because good ground was deemed too fast and DARK PINE (8-1) seems best on the all-weather or good to soft/softer turf. GOOD SHOW (5-1) and ONESMOOTHOPERATOR (10-1) could also be worth taking on, as they came from the rear when finishing one-three in a pace collapse race at Hamilton last time and were probably flattered. The two I’ve backed are Saeed Bin Suroor’s pair LIVE YOUR DREAM (number 3 on the racecard), returning from a 609-day break, and GLOBAL HEAT (number 2). Their handler does well with older handicappers, both go on quick ground. David O’Meara’s GET SHIRTY, number 1 on the racecard, will appreciate the drop in grade after contesting a Group 2 contest last time and has form figures in British handicaps over 1m4f-1m6f of 511115 (4-6). He seems to handle any going and the best way to side with this trio is to sell DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER with Spreadex.

Recommendation: Sell DOUBLE NUMBER OF WINNER in Haydock 2.25

CATTERICK 4.30

LIVE IN THE MOMENT, who was denied a fair crack of the whip when favourite for the “Dash” at Epsom last week thanks to the stalls debacle, can gain some compensation by landing this Class 4 contest. That Epsom ‘run’ aside, the Alice Haynes-trained six-year-old has form figures in handicaps from June to August of 121113284830 (4-12) for a profit of £17.95 to a £1 level stake at SP. He’s not best drawn in stall 7 but has early speed to burn and can get across to the inside rail. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back LIVE IN THE MOMENT in Catterick 4.30

CATTEICK 5.40

QUERCUS failed to adopt his customary front-running role at Ripon last time, meeting trouble in running before finishing an 18-1 fourth of 11. He’ll be happier back at Catterick– the scene of both of his previous wins – for this 6f Handicap and has form figures over track and trip of 611223222 (2-9), with the last three defeats by a nose, a head and half a length. He’s well drawn in stall 3 and Luke Morris is an interesting booking. Buy in the Spreadex 50-25-10 market or take a fixed odds price.

Recommendation: Back QUERCUS in Catterick 5.40
