SCRIPTWRITER (system – Milton Harris, Aintree)
In-form Milton Harris has done well at Aintree since resuming his training career in 2020, scoring with four of his nine runners for a profit of £22.33 to a £1 level stake at SP. SCRIPTWRITER could only finish sixth to Nusret when favourite for the Grade 2 Adonis Hurdle at Kempton last time but has been freshened up since and might be happier now returned to a left-handed track.
TAUNTON 4.55
SYR MAFFOS (system – Tom Lacey, first-time blinkers)
Tom Lacey is five from 20 when using first-time blinkers on one of his runners and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £23.50 to a £1 level stake at SP. SYR MAFFOS disappointed at Uttoxeter on New Year’s Eve when last seen but is worth one more chance in the new headgear.
CHELMSFORD 8.30
STEVEN SEAGULL (system – War Command, Chelmsford, 3yo+)
Older (3yo+) progeny of the sure War Command have a great record on Chelmsford’s Polytrack, landing 13 of their 47 starts for a profit of £111.88 to a £1 level stake at SP. STEVEN SEAGULL, gelded since finishing well beaten when 200-1 at Goodwood in September, might be capable of improvement on his all-weather/handicap debut.
