The betting market can still be biased against all-weather form, especially northern form. Horses who make a winning debut om the Tapeta surface at Newcastle are 46 from 130 (35.6% strike-rate) when bidding to follow up and backing them blind would have returned a profit of £22.53 to a £1 level stake at SP. Those trained by William Haggas had form figures of 1316111 (5-7) and his SEA FLAWLESS can maintain her 100% record when she tackles this novice contest.

HARDY FELLA (system – Emma Lavelle handicap hurdle debutants, finished first or second last time out)
Emma Lavelle has a solid record when running a hurdler in handicap company for the first time, especially with those who finished first or second last time out. She’s won with 17 of the 68 qualifiers (25%) for a profit of £50.00 to the usual £1 stake at SP. HARDY FELLA, runner-up in a novice hurdle at Wincanton last time, can go one better.

HOW IMPRESSIVE (system – Hugo Palmer, first-time headgear, all-weather handicaps, geldings)
Hugo Palmer does well when fitting one of his inmates with first-time headgear in an all-weather handicap, especially with geldings. He’s scored with 11 of the 47 qualifiers for a profit of £14.33. HOW IMPRESSIVE, a course and distance winner on his debut last January, will appreciate the return to Tapeta and could improve for the first-time cheekpieces.
