ALEEZDANCER qualifies as a bet for me based on a breeding angle – his sire Fast Company gets plenty of winners in the mud (see 4.55 Leopardstown for stats) – and it’s also interesting to see Neil Callan booked, as he’s four from 28 for a profit of £22.00 when riding for Kevin Ryan since he returned from Hong Kong. Nine of his 16 rides for the yard in handicaps finished in the frame an Aleezdancer could be worth chancing despite the six-month absence.
ASCOT 4.45
RUN TO MILAN (system – Victor Dartnall/Alan Johns trainer/jockey combination in handicaps)
Alan Johns is 11 from 46 (23.9%) when riding for in-form Victor Dartnall in handicaps and right-handed track expert RUN TO MILAN could be worth chancing to bounce back from a very disappointing effort at Sandown last time. The 11-year-old’s record when racing in this direction reads 1212P243132137 (4-14).
LEOPARSTOWN 4.55
SIRJACK THOMAS (system – Fast Company, soft or heavy going, Flat)
Progeny of the sire Fast Company do well when faced with officially soft or heavy going on the Flat, landing 113 of their 837 starts (13.5% strike-rate) for a profit of £41.38 (expected winners only 87.17). SIRJACK THOMAS will be fit from a run out in the Irish Lincolnshire at the Curragh just eight days ago and could go well at likely big odds.
