The new French talent that is making heads turn in European football is the 18 year old PSG midfielder Adrien Rabiot.
Rabiot, till recently involved in the youth setup of PSG, has had a sudden rise in his career and is now a regular starter in the French first division. While he had started off with the PSG first team, presence of a galaxy of big names forced the hand of the erstwhile PSG manager Carlo Ancelotti to send the midfielder on loan to Toulouse – by no means a very inferior name side.
Rabiot has attracted attention of bigger lights of European clubs through his energetic displays for Toulouse. According to several media sources, Tottenham Hotspur are the club most interested in acquiring the youngster and given that the PSG contract of Rabiot is set to run out in June 2015 (less than 2 years), it can be easily surmised that Spurs won’t be the only ones in the scene.
If a move to England happens for Rabiot, the midfielder would surely try to make it a better experience than his first outing as a 13 year old in Manchester City’s youth team when he left within 6 months due to lack of adjustment with the British culture. City, though, got an inkling of what they had lost when last season PSG’s Development team beat their Manchester counterpart by 2-1 inspired by Rabiot in the midfield.
Rabiot’s quick rise to the top has been possible due to his brilliant passing and positioning in the heart of midfield, while football analysts close to the player have revealed that he is working on his interception and tackling skills to complete his range of attributes.
This won’t be the last time you are hearing about Rabiot. On present form, the youngster is all set to appear for bigger teams on a bigger stage in the near future.
