Giovani dos Santos is regarded as one of the hottest young talents in football and he looks set to leave Nou Camp this summer in the major clear out which will prepare Barcelona for next season. Tottenham has become the favourites to land the Mexican after Manchester City and Chelsea were touted as potential suitors. The young winger will command a transfer fee of around £12.5 million.
Tottenham continue to cement their status as a venue for young, brilliant talent to shine on the world stage. Earlier today, the Daily Mail announced that the White Hart Lane club have beaten Chelsea to the signature of Crystal Palace wonderkid John Bostock. They are also rumoured to be in pole position to snatch Aaron Ramsey from Cardiff – that gem from the Guardian. And they have also beaten Manchester United to Gareth Bale twelve moths ago.
It looks like players these days, especially young ones, are also looking for first team opportunities as well as money. But the green no longer comes in pole position. Tottenham have given their youngsters a fair chance to shine: Huddlestone made the grade once Carrick left, O’Hara was given a decent amount of playing time this season and had it not been for his injury, Gareth Bale would have played a lot…
Now Juande Ramos is reaping the benefits of this generous attitude towards future talent, but whoever will be in charge at Tottenham in five or six years will be in football heaven. Should Tottenham manage to buy these three youngsters and nurture them to their potential it will become one of the strongest teams in England before long.
Hopefully Manchester United, Real Madrid and the likes of them are starting to realize that it is costing them to not give young players a fair chance at the first team spot anymore.
