Chelsea are the best team in the Premier League and it was evident in way they strolled their way to the title last season. However, Mourinho’s side failed to make their mark in Europe.

Jose Mourinho has always been vocal about his desire to do well in the Champions league and will be doing his best to ensure a successful European campaign this year.

Here is how the best team in England can improve and clinch their second Champions League crown next season.

Creative Burden

One of the main issues with Chelsea last season was the enormous creative burden on Eden Hazard.

As demonstrated by PSG, marking the Belgian out of the game can limit the Blues severely. Mourinho needs to address the issue of creativity this summer and bring in an attacking player who can share the creative responsibilities with Eden Hazard.

Alternative to Costa

Chelsea were in desperate need of a quality striker last season, when Diego Costa was out injured.

Loic Remy did a decent job for the Blues, but let’s be honest, he is not good enough to bother the best European defenses. Chelsea have announced the signing of Falcao, who was once the best striker in the world.

However, Falcao hasn’t quite been the same since his injury. Can he find his form under Jose?

Pro-active

Chelsea were a reactive unit under Mourinho in the Champions League.

As opposed to the league games, where Chelsea were always on the front foot and looking to take the initiative and destroy the opposition, they were quite happy to sit back and let things take their course in Europe and it cost them dear.

Next season, Chelsea will need to be aggressive and make the most of the attacking talent in their squad.
