Glasgow Rangers boss Steven Gerrard has assured the fans that striker Alfredo Morelos is not leaving the Ibrox club in the summer transfer window.

Earlier this month, Turkish giants Fenerbahce made enquiries and tabled an offer to sign the Gers striker, but it was rejected immediately.

The Turkish football reported last week that the Ibrox club are not interested in parting company with Morelos, especially at the price being offered to the Glasgow club.

And now, Rangers boss Gerrard has made it clear that Morelos is not going anywhere, and that he is looking forward to watching him in action soon.

“No update at all. He’s my player, he’s our player,” said Gerrard to the Daily Record, when asked about Morelos.

“We like him. He’s looking in fantastic shape and I’m looking forward to watching him tomorrow night. We believe he’s ready to fire.”

Morelos, signed by Pedro Caixinha, joined the Ibrox club in 2017 Finnish team HJK Helsinki for a transfer fee reported by Sky Sports to be worth £1.5 million.

The 22-year-old is one of the best strikers in the Scottish Premiership, and the Colombian can only improve as he settles down in the new league.

Last season he scored 18 goals in all competition, and despite struggling for consistency in the later half of the season, he was undoubtedly the best forward Rangers had on their books.

Gerrard’s comments will please the fans and the player, and it is very clear that the club is not thinking about selling him.
