Tottenham drew 2-2 with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge on Wednesday, ensuring that the race for a top four place between the two sides and Arsenal will most likely go down to the last day of the Premier League season.

Andre Villas-Boas’ men will be content with the draw given that they were trailing twice, however now must pray that one of their London rivals drops points for them to capitalise.

Spurs face Stoke City away and Sunderland at home in their last two Premier League games and must win both to stand any realistic chance of qualifying for the Champions League next season. Neither game will be easy given that the Potters are a difficult proposition at the Britannia Stadium, and the Black Cats are yet to secure their top-flight survival.

Looking at the fixtures for Chelsea and Arsenal, the London sides go into their games as favourites but are by no means guaranteed maximum points. The Stamford Bridge side have the added distraction of the Europa League final coming up, however Rafael Benitez’s men are starting to fire when it matters.

Chelsea firstly face Aston Villa at Villa Park and will be confident given the 8-0 thumping they recorded in the reverse fixture.

That said, the Birmingham-based club have started to record some positive results of late, and have powered their way out of the relegation dogfight with back-to-back wins. Christian Benteke will be the main threat for the visitors.

The Blues face Everton at Stamford Bridge on the last day of the season, and although the Toffees are out of the hunt for top four, the visitors will want to finish the season on a high.

David Moyes will be managing the Goodison Park club for the last time after an 11-year stint on Merseyside, and as such his team will be motivated to get a result.

Arsenal also have games that they would expect to win, but face two sides fighting for their Premier League lives. Firstly Wigan are the visitors to the Emirates Stadium, with Roberto Martinez’s men needing to get a positive result to stand a chance of avoiding the drop once more.

A trip to St James’ Park on the last day of the season could be tricky, especially as Newcastle United could still need a result to keep them in the top flight.

Tottenham will look back at poor form and defeats against Liverpool and Fulham in March as a major reason they are not in a position of power at the moment. However, with two games left it is all to play for, and Spurs are not out of the hunt just yet.
