According to Sport Mediaset pundit Maurizio Pistocchi, Unai Emery has signed a pre-contract agreement with AC Milan.

“According to my sources – the same ones who gave me Seedorf to Milan (six months early) and Mancini to Inter – Unai Emery has signed with Milan”, he said.

The Sevilla manager has been linked with the Milan job for the last few weeks and it seems Galliani has finally got his man. Emery is all set to take charge of a struggling Milan side next season and will be tasked with the job of bringing back the glory days.

Emery has enjoyed superb season with Sevilla and could end it on a high if his team manage to beat Dnipro in the Europa League final on Wednesday. Emery’s Sevilla narrowly missed out on Champions League qualification yesterday, after Valencia crawled back to a crucial win.

However, Sevilla can still qualify for the Champions League, if they win on Wednesday.

Emery has had great success managing struggling teams and will asked to do the same in Italy now. The former Valencia manager specializes in maximizing his resources and producing successful teams through dedicated coaching.

Earlier this season, Carlo Ancelotti looked set to return to AC Milan, after a trophyless season with Real Madrid. The former Milan boss is set to get the sack at the Bernabeu, despite winning the La Decima last season.

Berlusconi stated earlier that he will look to bring Carlo back to Milan, if he leaves Real Madrid. But it seems Ancelotti is keen to take a year off.

The Real Madrid manager confirmed yesterday that he will either stay at Real Madrid or take a break.

According to reports in the Italian media, Galliani is set to fly out to Madrid tomorrow and finalise a deal for the next Milan manager.

Despite missing out on his prime target, Galliani has landed a quality manager in Unai Emery, who will give the Milan fans a lot of reasons to be happy about.
