Former Arsenal defender Giovanni van Bronckhorst has claimed that Manchester United striker Robin van Persie is not happy with how things are going at Old Trafford .

The former Holland international opines that van Persie is struggling to enjoy himself at Old Trafford, because of Manchester United’s poor form in the league.

The 30-year-old was an inspirational figure last season for Sir Alex Ferguson’s side and though this term he has scored 11 goals in 17 league appearances, his overall impact in the team hasn’t been spectacular.

Van Bronckhorst however didn’t indulge into any sort of controversy with van Persie’s future but reflected it is not all hunky dory at the moment for the Dutch striker, as he told  talkSPORT:

“I don’t know if he wants to move on but it’s obvious he’s not playing the way he can,”

“If you compare him with last year when he was playing fantastic football, as well as the Manchester United team, but this year they’re struggling and if the teams struggling then the players are struggling, as well as Van Persie. I can imagine that he’s not feeling really happy.”

Van Persie’s future has been well speculated in the media, with several reports suggesting the Dutch striker could make a sensational return to the Emirates in the summer.
