This is way too easy…
Arjen Robben, who is rumored to be out of Chelsea this summer, promised that he won’t be ‘diving’ next season. His reasoning, as you might imagine, is flawless.
From the Guardian:
Robben said the regularity with which he fell last season was because of his mental state, created by bad experiences in 2004-05.
But wait, that’s not the best part – here more:
“Sometimes maybe the style of jumping or falling is not the nicest but I haven’t been kicked this season and that’s a good thing. I’m not a diver. I know that. Next season I’ll just carry on the way I play and I won’t change my game at any time.”
This is the man who fell to the ground because Reina raised his hand at him – this is also the man who, along with Drogba, would have won an award for falling and rolling about on the ground acting injured.
Which part of rolling around and pretending to be injured is considered “jumping away”, Robben?

And while we’re talking about the man (it’s easy to forget that he’s just 22), there’s been a lot of speculation that he’s going to be out of Chelsea this summer. Similar to the RVN situation (except in that case I think Ruud should be sold, although he wont be), this is absolute bollocks. AR has played better than Duff, Gudjohnsen, SWP and Crespo…if anything, these guys are the ones going out. And if you don’t remember, there’s Maniche as well on loan – once he is shipped out, Chelsea just need to lose two more players – in all likelihood one more midfielder and probably Crespo. The evidence points to Duff and/or Gudjohnsen, as SWP and Robben are both young and willing to stick around for a long time.
And after Lampard complained earlier that he doesn’t like the ‘divers’ tag, it’s nice to see that Chelsea will be winning one less award next season for sure.
