Report: Leeds United striker Marcus Antonsson set to join Malmo

According to reports from Swedish newspaper Expressen, Leeds United striker Marcus Antonsson is close to joining Malmo.

The Swedish club is now managed by former Leeds boss Uwe Rosler and he is keen to sign the 27-year-old who has been on Leeds’ radar since 2016.

Antonsson joined the Whites in 2016 from Kalmar FF and made 21 appearances in his first season at the Yorkshire club, scoring three goals.

He was sent on loan to Blackburn Rovers last season, where he scored eight goals in 21 appearances.

The report claims that Malmo are looking to bolster their attacking options and has earmarked Antonsson for that role.

The Swedish club have been in agreement with Leeds who have allowed their player to meet the club and complete the medical.

The player will undergo his medical today and if the parties agree on personal then he will be presented shortly.
