The Times writer Gary Jacob reports today that Chelsea are monitoring Napoli forward Jose Callejon.

Chelsea are looking to sell David Luiz to Barcelona and manager Jose Mourinho wants to use the money properly in buying few players. The Blues have already changed their transfer policy in order to comply with the UEFA Financial Fair play rules.

Last January, the club sold Juan Mata and Kevin de Bruyne for a total of £55 million, which allowed them to buy three players (Matic, Zouma and Salah) and still make a profit.

Mourinho looking to raise cash to bring in few players and one of them could be Callejon, who played under the Portuguese during his time at Real Madrid.

Last week, reports from Italy suggested that Chelsea are contemplating a massive €32m offer for Napoli winger.

The 27-year-old has enjoyed a brilliant campaign under Rafa Benitez, where he bagged 15 goals and six assists to his name. Caelljon earns €3.5m at the Italian club but Chelsea are willing to double his wages, which could tempt the Spaniard to leave the club.

While Benitez will highly unlikely be willing to sanction such a deal, one cannot help but wonder, is he the type of player Chelsea at all need?
