According to the Mirror, Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has offered £20million for Real Madrid midfielder, Isco.

The Spaniard has been linked with moves away from the Bernabeu all summer because of the lack of first team action. With new manager Rafa Benitez keen to use Benzema as the attacking midfielder behind Cristiano Ronaldo, it seems Isco’s chances of first team football have been dealt a blow.

Isco has been linked with a move to Manchester City in the past, where he would be reunited with his mentor, Manuel Pellegrini. The pair worked together at Malaga and enjoyed a successful relationship.

Jose Mourinho is keen to add to his side’s creativity and is looking at Isco to share Hazard’s creative burden. Chelsea seemed limited at times last season with Hazard marked out of the game and Mourinho is keen to address that weakness.

Isco would also be a perfect replacement for Oscar, who is a target for Juventus. Mourinho is apparently keen to let go of the Brazilian if he can secure the services of Isco.

Despite being in and out of the side, Isco has been brilliant for Real Madrid when called upon and is undoubtedly one of the finest attacking midfielders in the world. Furthermore, his playing style and technique suits the Premier League perfectly.

Real Madrid are reluctant to let him go at the moment. But should Chelsea raise their offer, who knows, Mourinho might just land his man.
