Real Madrid manager Rafa Benitez has dropped a huge hint regarding the future of Manchester United keeper, David De Gea.

The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Real Madrid over the last couple of months and at one point it seemed inevitable. Following the departure of club legend Casillas, rumours intensified that the De Gea move will now accelerate.

Manager, Rafa Benitez has claimed that he is just happy with one keeper and that Navas is likely to be his number one choice for next season.

Also the signing of Kiko Casilla further backs up Rafa’s claims and increases the likelihood of De Gea staying at United for this season.

Asked if Navas would be a regular starter, Benitez said: “I think so, yes, we wanted to give him the chance to play and prove himself and he has done well.”

Furthermore, he also gave a hint that De Gea would not be needed this season.

“I only need one goalkeeper on each match, and as long as I have one, I’m happy,” the 55-year-old said.

However, United’s insistence of having Sergio Ramos seem to have scuppered the deal and Real Madrid are now prepared to wait till next summer for the Spanish goalkeeper. It is believed that Perez wants Ramos to captain the side and will not allow him to join United.

After a dispute over a new contract, Ramos wanted to join Manchester United, but it seems Perez will now offer him a mega money deal and wants him to lead the club forward.
