Two passionate football lovers from India – Raj Aaryan and Preet Mokha – have come up with an innovative idea to unite football fans across the world by bringing everyone under the big digital bonnet of social media.

They have launched a new social networking app under the name “Rabona” with a mission to help football fans connect with each other, mainly for those who eat, talk, sleep and probably drink football as well.

Raj noticed that he and his friends spend most of their time discussing matters relating to football. During his stay abroad, he made a lot of friends of different religion and culture, mostly united by their love for football. He observed how people from different countries, cultures, and backgrounds quite easily engage in conversations relating to football, thus developing a network.

This was the central inspiration behind developing the Rabona app, as they felt a social networking tool dedicated to football would bring people closer to each other.

Rabona gives a platform for football fans to share and express their views and opinions on the beautiful game. It doesn’t always necessarily has to be a serious discussion about the game, but here people can share cool stuff (videos / stories / pictures /scores) they did on field and other similar things that might interest other readers.

Creating a new football event / meet ups / matches / tournaments and inviting others to participate in it is one of the attractive features of this app. It’s a good platform for any local tournament organisers to make their presence felt. All you have to do is create an account and go to the ‘tournament’ section to ‘create a tournament’.

Likewise, it is also a good platform for young football players to connect with other players in your locality. Here you can find matches, tournaments and events in your city to participate in.

As you can see from the image above, you’ve to fill in your personal details, details of the tournament, submit the post and it’s done. It’s so simple. Alternatively, you can create a match if you’re looking to play a friendly game with your nearby local teams. In the ‘messenger’ option, you can chat with your friends discussing about any upcoming events.

Another interesting feature is ‘creating a club’ and asking your friends to join. Else, you can also look for a club near your locality where you can be a part of. You can share photos, videos or any news item on your ‘club wall’ page.

It is indeed an innovative idea to blend football and social network together. It not only provides a space for football lovers to engage with other fans, but at the same time opens up opportunities to take part in local match events.
